This is a great go-to restaurant for lunch or dinner.  I've been many, many times over the years and have never been disappointed.  They offer great food and service.

Back when I ate red meat, I loved the Mother Mohawk, an incredible sandwich with roast beef AND chicken salad.  I've also enjoyed the Veggie Wrap, filled with an amazing array of veggies, cheese and guac.  The 1/2 salad or soup & sandwich is a great deal.  They also have a good selection of quesadillas, and I am always happy when anyone has salmon tacos on the menu.

    Love the Mohawk.

This divey little place is a GV landmark, and has passed the test of time. Smallish full service bar with 2 smaller (40"?) TVs. Place is sort of dingy, but that's sort of the charm. No outdoor seating, and one street parking only...good luck with that.

Bartender and drinks were great, and while it's not a Southwest Grill, grub is surprisingly good! The Mother Mohawk sammie has beef and chicken, and is outstanding. As is the beef stew.

We don't go that often, as we like other places better in GV, but I still recommend...you can't go wrong with the Old Mohawk.

Old Mohawk is a German Village staple - neighborhood tavern that has been around forever, same folks hanging out, same vibe - casual, laidback, etc. no matter what time of day. I used to come here as a kid (and I am...not young) and it has kept up with the times without losing that homey feeling.

The decor is dark wood, big bar, lots of stuff on the walls - but with local art on the walls to give things a little color. Staff are old-school friendly and welcoming.

While there is a retro feel, the bar and food have kept up with the times. There are plenty of taps to choose from, good variety without being fussy. The food is consistently great, vegetarian-friendly, and varied - a menu that offers both German-style dinners and veggie paella.Their classics: turtle soup and the Mother Mohawk - give them a try! Even though I'm more of a Rachel gal (turkey Reuben), I went with a veggie wrap on our last visit, and the spouse with the bratwurst. Basic, but done well. Staff kept us topped up on drinks and the place filled up quickly (note if you're coming over on a Friday night or on a football Saturday) - it's a popular place - but you'll find friends at Old Mohawk!

This restaurant is located in the heart of German Village and offers up a great selection of soups, sandwiches, salads, entrees, and more! They have some unique menu items such as turtle soup (if you are feeling adventurous) and their signature bratwurst that can come in an entree or in a sandwich. I ended up getting the Bratwurst sandwich that was made up of sauerkraut, caramelized onion, swiss cheese, and bratwurst on a bun with a side of potato pancakes. It came with sour cream for the potato pancakes and horseradish for the sandwich. The bratwurst was full of flavor and one of the best that I have had, and it worked well with all the other ingredients in the sandwich. The potato pancakes were golden, crispy, and tasty as well. I felt so stuffed after eating this meal that I took a long nap afterwards, but it was definitely a worthwhile experience!

The Old Mohawk is a hidden gem in the heart of German Village. This beautiful brick building sits on a corner of two brick streets and once you walk in the doors, the staff at this restaurant/tavern greet you with smiling faces and laid back personalities. The staff wants to get to know you, so sitting at the bar, having a drink, and talking to the bartenders makes for a genuine conversation. The brick walls are lined with framed newspaper articles and student artwork for sale. The food is especially delicious (try the turtle soup in the winter months) with the best spinach and artichoke dip in Columbus. After moving out of German Village years ago, I still find myself yearning for a walk down the old brick streets of the village and into the wooden door of The Old Mohawk.
